About the Author:
Paul Hutchens lives in Norfolk, England. After a number of years in a variety of jobs, including tree surgeon and publican, Paul is currently taking time out to pursue his long-standing ambition to become a full-time novelist. Although Reluctant Gods is a complete story in its own right, it is also the first of a planned series of novels that blend science fiction with historical fiction. Stemming from the what if? traditions of 'alternative history' these books create an entire new world where past and future collide.
Excerpt from the book:
\"All the screens were showing images, graphs or information of some kind. The big central screen was split into two images. The left-hand half of the screen showed a portion of an enormous space station, called Achilles, in geostationary orbit three hundred and fifty thousand kilometres above their heads. The right-hand half showed a real-time representation of a small device, named Molly, that was aboard Achilles but could not be filmed in its perfectly sealed chamber. Mark had taken his seat about three hours before Achilles was due to launch Molly into the antimatter universe.\"
